In the Mud!

On Thursday, our practice space got all wet in the rain. Anya Face dragged us outside in our running shoes to scrimmage on the grass. It was great! I took and gave harder hits than I ever have before, which really boosted my confidence. The next day, expecting to have bruises, I didn't find a single one. I'm a tough cookie, I guess! Now if I can combine that power with skating stability, I'll have it made.

Another big boost was seeing our team kick Toronto's ass, with a score of 117 to 70. Amazing! When I was watching, for the first time, I thought: "I can do that!" I saw girls skating that were slower and sloppier than I am. My desire to get on the track went through the rough.

However, the biggest problem right now is that I've gone off the pill. My husband and I are ready to have kids. I'm willing to bet that just as I'm hitting my stride, I'm going to get knocked up. It's my own fault, I know :)

  1. I can't believe I missed the match. I blame Twist. Hopefully you won't get preggers before the next one. October, isn't it?
