LOCO's Launch Nite

Our first night of LOCO Roller Derby was a great success.

Lots of ladies turned out and all our costs were covered. But most importantly, everyone got to skate! -- well, not me, cause I'm knocked up. But I got to watch everyone skate and lead some drills! I've never led drills before, so I was a little nervous. Their red cheeks told me that I was making sure everyone had a good work out. It was a great first night, with so many smiles and laughs, some familiar faces and new friends. Afterwards, we shared pints at the Morrisey House -- I had root beer -- and joked around, laughing and getting to know each other. Kudos to Pepper Assault who drove all the way from Kitchener! We also had someone from Mount Brydges and one from St. Thomas. There were familiar faces like Betty Bones, Assacin and Roxem Hard, as well as lots of new faces. I can't wait to see how the group comes together. I already have  good feeling about it.
