The Ontario Government Sponsors Fat-Hate

This video is disgusting.

It makes people feel terrible about themselves.

Most men will end up with a belly, weird body hair and man-boobs. It's part of life, part of aging. High blood pressure and diabetes happen in thin people too.

We have to divorce the concepts of health and fat - they are not mutually exclusive, and thinness does not equal health.

Imagine if it was a fat woman in this commercial! All the feminist blogs would be up in arms about how we put false ideals in front of young girls and make women feel terrible for aging and having post-baby bodies, etc.

I can't believe that the government I pay taxes to is sponsoring this kind of fat-hate. And I can't believe I haven't read one single blog or article that is as outraged as I am at its stupidity and garbage message.

On a positive note, I did hear about an amazing lobbying group on the CBC today, and you should definitely take a moment to read about it here. I don't know if the Canadian Obesity Network is on the ball with fat-acceptance, but the idea of making it illegal to shame people based on their body sounds a-okay for me.

Because my body is nobody's business but mine.
